We will manufacture and deliver fine paint for your work at an honest price. We're tradespeople too. We're dedicated to quality products and outstanding results that stand the test of time.

We promise to continuously care about how our products affect you and the planet we share.

We promise to listen to you if you think something we make isn't perfect and we'll work to make it right. We're all in this together.

The Front Porch Promise above is a statement of our values and does not create additional warranty obligations beyond those set forth in the Limited Lifetime Warranty below.

Heron Paint warrants that this product, when properly applied to an eligible substrate, will not peel or flake from the surface. If it does, we'll send you enough replacement product to fix it — at no charge.

Covered
  • Peeling of the paint film from the substrate
  • Flaking or delamination of the coating
  • Replacement product of equal or greater quality, in quantity sufficient to repair the affected area only
  • Color matching to original purchased color
Not Covered
  • Fading, chalking, matting, or color shift over time
  • Labor costs for application or removal
  • Applications over existing coatings
  • Damage from weather, fire, flood, or impact
  • Exact color match on aged or weathered surfaces
Note on Aging

Linseed oil paint weathers naturally — chalking, matting, and shifting in tone over time. This is not failure; it is the nature of the material. These appearance changes are not covered by this warranty.

Color Match

We'll match your original color to the best of our ability using current pigment stock. Color match is approximate and may not account for weathering or patina of the existing painted surface.

Homeowners
Lifetime
of your ownership

For residential owner-occupants who purchase and apply the paint themselves, the warranty lasts as long as you own your home. Coverage is for peeling and flaking only.

Contractors & Applicators
20 Years
from date of purchase

For contractors and professional applicators working on any structure — including institutional and government properties — the warranty covers twenty years from the date of purchase.

This warranty is non-transferable.

Heron Paint performs best on bare wood and bare metal. Warranty coverage requires application to one of the following:

Bare Wood

Previously unpainted wood, or wood that has been fully stripped to raw substrate prior to application.

Bare Metal

Previously uncoated metal, or metal that has been fully stripped to raw substrate prior to application.

Exclusion

Application over existing coatings of any kind — alkyd, acrylic, latex, epoxy, or other oil-based paints — is not covered. While linseed oil paint adheres well to many surfaces, certain treatments and coatings can produce unpredictable results that cannot be foreseen.

To keep your warranty valid, the paint must be applied as follows. Heron Paint LLC cannot verify site conditions after the fact — proper application is the responsibility of the applicator.

1
Primer Coat

Apply one full primer coat to the bare substrate before any finish coats.

2
Three Full Coats

Apply three full coats of Heron linseed oil paint at a minimum of 4 mils wet film thickness per coat.

3
Full Cure Between Coats

Each coat must be fully cured before the next is applied — typically 24 to 48 hours depending on temperature, humidity, and airflow. If the previous coat is still tacky, it is not ready.

Failure resulting from insufficient film thickness, inadequate cure time, or fewer than the required number of coats is not covered.

Claims must be submitted within 12 months of the date the defect was first discovered or reasonably should have been discovered. We'll review your claim before any product is shipped.

1
Document the Failure

Take clear photographs of the affected area showing the nature and extent of the peeling or flaking.

2
Gather Your Receipt

Locate your original dated proof of purchase. This is required to process your claim.

3
Submit to Heron

Send your photos and receipt to info@heronpaint.com. We may request additional documentation before approving a remedy. Shipping fees apply after claim approval only.
