Our handmade Purified Linseed Oil starts as food grade flax oil from the US. Our refining method produces a clean, pale drying oil with many uses such as primer coats for thirsty wood and thinning Heron paint. There are no additives in our Purified Linseed Oil.
It can be used as a penetrating base coat on dry wood and a rejuvenating coat on surfaces previously painted with Linseed Oil Paint.
Our oil can be used on clean metal to prevent rust, all wooden projects inside and out and mixed with varying amounts of linseed oil paint to create unique stains and washes. It does not contain any UV inhibitors. This is our slowest drying; yet deepest penetrating oil at Heron.
It’s quite expensive for my budget, so I have to get it a little at a time until I have enough for my project. The price will be worth it just in the fact that I may not have to do anything again for a very long time.
Natural, healthy, and high quality linseed oil, tung oil, and finishing wax. I love the tone of the finish on the Greenland kayak paddles that I have recently made. Feels great to the touch as well!
