Raw/thirsty/weathered wooden surfaces will require a saturating coat of Purified Linseed Oil or an oil-thinned coat of paint. No separate primer is required. The same paint may be used for all coats.

Paint Coverage: 150 - 205 Sq. Ft. Per Quart/ 3-4 mils wet film thickness, depending on surface texture/porosity and type of pigment. (This is more than twice the surface area of conventional paint coverage.)

Shipping is overpriced

$19 shipping for 1/2 pint of linseed oil paint?

Hi Gene, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the USPS shipping rates. We used to offer USPS Ground Advantage which is considerably cheaper, but the longer ship time resulted in more damage to orders. We strive to provide the best service at the most reasonable prices, but USPS and UPS pricing is not in our control, especially for 3000 mile journeys. UPS is generally cheaper than USPS for much of the country so that could be an option next time. We will definitely take your comment into consideration for future orders. It's our goal to get our linseed oil paint across this big country as cheaply as possible. -Heron

First time with Heron Linseed Paint - Loved it

I've been using linseed oil paints for exterior projects on the home I'm restoring for years, but this was my first time trying it out on interior plaster walls. Great experience all around! I did 3 thin brush coats in total, with the first coat thinned with some boiled linseed oil.
